Women Who Shoot

Women Who Shoot

It's a great day today because my last scheduled exhibit of the year begins today! Women Who Shoot is a group show of work by Amanda Moore, Shalee Cooper, and Zuzanna Audette, and me of course. I'll be showing - for the first time ever in public - Polaroids from my camp project that I've been working on all summer. Below are two photos of how I've displayed the images. I mounted actual-size Polaroid prints on solid black foam core, and then mounted those to a 6" x 10' length of poplar that I painted black. It looks amazing, if I do say so myself, and I can't wait to see it hanging on the wall tonight. I also printed six of my favorite Polaroids from the project big (8x10) and mounted them on 1/2" thick white foam core to hang individually. Those are the pieces I'm selling. The big black beast is coming home to reside over my couch in one month.

If you're in the Salt Lake City area, please come check out the show. It's at the Utah Arts Alliance Gallery at 127 S. Main. The reception is tonight from 6-9 and the show runs through August 29, and it's the last time you can see my work in public this year.
