Far from Home

I spent a good portion of my day looking at our vacation photos from last summer and came across this one, far from home, at Lake Tahoe. We just pulled off the road somewhere on the California side at a spot that looked like a good put-in, and found this peaceful, calm protected bay of sorts. We paddled south a ways then drifted slowly back toward the car. As we floated about a thousand feet off shore, we enjoyed watching a party from afar that was going on back on land. It was so quiet out on the water that we could hear the music and laughter being shared. It was our first night at Tahoe. How I miss you.

Salt Lake Toy Camera Club meets April 22. Be there or be 6x6.

Tonight, I'm listening to iTunes on shuffle:
"Into the Mystic" Van Morrison
"Look After You" The Fray
"Distractions" Zero 7
"Come Calling" Cowboy Junkies

Prayer Flags

I wish I could say I photographed these while on a month-long adventure in Nepal, but they're actually from a Nepalese store on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado, and now hanging in my backyard between two of my Ginseng trees.

This month, I'm the featured artist at Solstice Framing and Gallery! If you're in the Salt Lake area, check out my Local Color project hanging through April. 357 E 3300 South.

This morning, I am listening to a great jam band called TapWater. We listened to them on a streetcorner in Stateline, Nevada on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe last summer. Check them out!

In the wash...

I've been neglecting my cameras and in turn, my blog, for months. Here are a few more from my recent outing to the West Desert west of SLC, with the promise that I'll post again soon with something new and preferably film-based. Yes, these are digital. I took an arsenal of film cameras out with me and took two Polaroid shots that I just found in my washer this morning. I washed them with my jeans. Oops.

Months ago, for a short time, I included what I was listening to and somehow, I forgot to keep doing it. Not that you care or anything, but today I'm listening to:

Dixie Chicks Taking the Long Way
Fiona Apple Extraordinary Machine
The Duhks "Down the River"
