Sneak Peek

I'm revamping and reopening my Etsy shop on Monday, February 1st to celebrate my blog's 5th birthday - or anniversary - whichever you prefer. These quick snaps are a sneak peek of some of the offerings that will be available and on sale. I'll announce the shop's reopening here on Monday, and I hope you'll stop by. Have a nice weekend, friends!

Eyes Were Rolled

My scanner cooperated long enough for me to scan the rest of my negatives from San Francisco, Monterey, and Pacific Grove. When I went to turn the beast on this past Monday, it was dead again. The repair shop ordered a whole new board (for the third time) and now a new power cord, and I have to drop it off on my lunch today. They said they'd only keep it for an hour, and I hope that's the case. Having a constantly broken scanner is putting a crimp in my style, though I did laugh out loud on Monday when it wouldn't power up. Eyes were rolled. Oh, technology.

The photos above are from my Banner Diana clone, probably my most favorite camera at the moment. I just loved Northern California. We've got to go back.

Budding Foodie

The ball is rolling! Very excitedly, I am working on crossing #26 off my "32 things" list. A new photo project! This year, my list contains a lot of food-related items, and with this project, I'm hoping to kill two birds (er, nine) with one stone. So what's the project? Please head on over to Budding Foodie to check it out. I'm so happy about the project and really looking forward to spending time in my kitchen!

Other Things

Ever since posting my birthday list, I've thought up a bunch of other things I'd like to do this year. Things like trying a new recipe weekly, and definitely making flatbread and potato leek pizza, eating in more and out far less, beginning a b/w project with my Lubitel, and hosting a party on my new deck to celebrate its completion (when it's finished of course)... I'd also like to try my hand at making my own stamps, so that'll be an all-day Saturday project one of these days. I can't wait to get started on these and all of my official birthday list things.

I've spent the last two evenings scanning like a mad woman. I got my scanner back after two weeks in the repair shop. I don't know how I survived so long without it, but it's working like a champ now. The image above was on a roll from my Banner, my blurry, blurry Banner, that I shot a few weeks ago. As soon as I saw this frame, I fell in love. I can't believe I got something so crisp (relatively) from my Banner. I can honestly say this is one of my favorite images I've ever shot, and my husband even peeled his eyes away from a fierce game of Tetris to check it out just now. I love winter, and snow, and pines, and the blur and bokeh just do something for me. Once I get working through the rest of my negatives, I'll have more to share. Things from San Francisco and Pacific Grove, Capitol Reef National Park, and a few things from closer to home. Stay tuned...

32!

Today is my 32nd birthday! I had so much fun this past year working on my "31 things" birthday list that I decided to make one for this year. I must send my thanks again to the queen list-maker herself, the lovely Andrea Jenkins, whose lists never cease to inspire and awe me. Thanks friend! So with no further adieu, I give you my list of 32 things to do before I turn 33...
